Soon you will be able to experience the nightmare aboard the Nostromo mining ship in another Alien game. This time a cooperative board game called Alien: Fate of the Nostromo by Ravensburger.
In the game One to five players will fill play the roles of the classic Nostromo’s crew members - Ripley, Lambert, Parker, Brett and Dallas.
Over the course of the game, they collect scrap, craft items, and fulfill different objectives. The crew will lose and gain morale as they encounter the Alien and other situations. If crew morale reaches zero, players lose the game.
Each turn has two phases. In the Crew Action phase, players creep through the Nostromo's halls, gathering scrap, crafting items, trading scrap and items with other players, and using items and their special abilities. Brett, for example, can craft items with one fewer scrap than other players. If the Alien is within three spaces of the player with the incinerator, that player can use the incinerator to send the Alien back to its nest.
In the Encounter phase, players draw and resolve an Encounter card. The Alien could be lurking behind any corner...
Alien: Fate of the Nostromo is scheduled to release on August 1st of this year. No information on pricing or what’s included in the box is currently available.
In Episode 27 where we spoke to Dan Hughes, one of the things he spoke about was the game he had coming to Kickstarter, called CoraQuest. In that episode we asked whether the game would be coming to retail and Dan replied there were no plans unless it funded really well and a publisher could make a great offer. Following an extremely successful Kickstarter campaign, which funded in under 36 mins, a new company called Bright Eye Games has agreed a deal to publish the game. Fronted by Mark Cooke, who we spoke to in Ep 25, will look to bring Coraquest to stores, once the game has been delivered to all KS Backers.

The ALIEN tabletop roleplaying game is a beautifully illustrated 392-page full-color hardcover book, both presenting the world of ALIEN in the year 2183 and a fast and effective ruleset designed specifically to enhance the ALIEN experience. The game can be played in two distinct game modes:
Cinematic play is based on pre-made scenarios that emulate the dramatic arc of an ALIEN film. Designed to be played in a single session, this game mode emphasizes high stakes and fast and brutal play. You are not all expected to survive.
Campaign play is designed for longer continuous play with the same cast of player characters over many game sessions, letting you explore the ALIEN universe freely, sandbox style.
The rules of the game are based on the acclaimed Year Zero Engine, used in award-winning games such as Tales from the Loop and Mutant: Year Zero, but adapted and further developed to fully support and enhance the core themes of ALIEN: horror and action in the cold darkness of space.
